So I was browsing the Jaguar USA website, and THIS popped up on the XE page. A proper stick? Hell yes!

Just pray it doesn't say "European model shown."
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:33 |

I'm serious, I'd buy it as the replacement for my X-Type.

This with a diesel and all black leather interior. 10/10 would buy if I wasn't poor.

Nibby, playing the Devil's advocate. :p
But it is possible..
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:39 |

Hopefully it isn't just an auto with a manual-like shifter.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:40 |

Just a leather-bagged auto shifter there
Move along, nothing to see here
[gof I hope I'm wrong]

Word from Jag says no manual trans at US launch.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:47 |

Please, this with a V8 or twin turbo V6. Thanks Jaguar.

Good eye!

With Jaguar designing there automatic-shifters like this recently, probably not:
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:55 |
|
So they offer a stick on their cheapest sedan, but not on their sports car (F-Type).
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:00 |

I thought there was a confirmed manual coming to the F-Type? http://jalopnik.com/jaguar-f-type-…
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:03 |

Don't worry, from what I hear it's coming.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:05 |

Yes, but given this article , the fact that reviewers love diesel-manuals, the fact that the marketers need a base combo to lower the advertised price, the video below, and the fact that Jag will need to sell more manual units in lower-level cars to make it viable in the f-type, it all seems inevitable.

I remember when Lincoln did this in the mid 2000s when they were trying to build a sporty sedan to compete with the 5 series. The V6 got an optional manual while the V8 didn't. Facepalm then, facepalm now.

Here's another angle.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:09 |

It should've been available from launch.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:09 |

This is an elaborate ruse.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:10 |

It's like those manufacturers that offer a manual on the FWD model, but on the AWD version it is only auto. I'm looking at you, nissan juke

Look what you have made me do to my work space... I was not ready.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:12 |

Nope, I just checked the UK website, and IT IS AVAILABLE!
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:14 |

sorry.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:16 |

Elaborate ruse. This will never see US soil
[c'mon Jag-you-are, prove me wrong damnit]

SOLD!!
![]() 10/01/2014 at 14:04 |
|
It should've been, but the very fact that, in the relatively near future, you'll be able to get one of the best-looking cars on sale today with a manual, means I'm perfectly willing to forgive and forget.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 14:06 |

I know you're more of a diesel guy, and I'm happy for you... But I can't help but be disappointed that you can't get a petrol with a manual.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 14:09 |

Yeah I can understand that, I do think lazy torque is better for a luxury car though. Not to mention the fairly impressive economy.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 14:12 |

It's certainly the more practical choice, and would likely suit the car's character a little better, but...
